Huckabee Runs Again...!
Governor, media figure and horse's ass Mike Huckabee has decided the American people have forgotten they had no use for him in 2011, so he's bringing his unique gifts to the world back into the campaign ring...
HUCKABEE 2012 ... WE NEED A PRESIDENT SMARTER THAN JESUS!
When Christ our Savior was nailed the to the cross, He was crucified with two thieves.
One thief mocked and scorned Christ even as he died.
The other accepted Christ, abjured his sins and begged Christ for forgiveness, which Jesus granted.
But he didn't let him down off his cross.
Good thing the Reverend Huckabee's smarter than that. Huckabee pardoned or demanded clemency for more violent criminals than his three predecessors combined. He was to putting violent criminals back on the streets what Obama is to deficit spending. Huckabee earned a reputation as a gullibly self-righteous champion of violent thugs, including Marcus Dumond, a convicted rapsist who went on to kill another young woman, Carol Sue Shields, after his release.

Carol Sue Shields, murdered by a man Mike Huckabee
pardoned over the objections of prosecutors
and prison officials.
But Huckabee's finest moment came when he granted clemency to Maurice
Clemmons, a violent criminal serving a 108-year sentence, over the
objections of prison officials. Clemmons went on to kill four Seattle
police officers.
Murdered in cold blood: (Clockwise from top left)
Lakewood Police officers Greg Richards, 42,
Mark Renninger, 39, Tina Griswold, 40,
and 37-year-old Ronald Owens
Since then Huckabee has bravely blamed the court system for sentencing
Clemmons, the prison system for not warning him a man serving 108 years
was a bad man, and local prosecutors for not objecting fast enough to
keep Clemmons from being released... he's blamed everything and
everybody except himself and his own inability to tell his vanity from
divine will.
Jesus in His ultimate trial knew that forgiveness in the next life does
not equal amnesty in this one. Christians everywhere can be grateful to
Mike Huckabee for fixing that little oversight.

Thanksgiving in Iraq...
Blackfive shares the story of an Iraq Thanksgiving our betters in the media have done their best to dismiss...
Although I disagree with many of President Bush's policies (he shares too many views with the DC GOP that I really wish he didn't), there is no question that he was a man of personal character that is sorely missed in the White House. I'm thankful we had him.
And I'm thankful that we have less than three years left of this spoiled, narcissistic, incompetent adolescent...

BARACK OBAMA TRIED TO KILL ME WITH MY OWN GUN!
OK, now that I've got your attention....
I was happy enough with "Civility," my Uberti .44 Magnum single-action. Sweet shooter, accurate, moderately less dangerous to the neighbors with Glaser Safety Slugs for a house load.
But with all the fuss and bother from the Democrats I decided to buy a couple more firearms while I still could.
So I bought a nice, practical Smith and Wesson .40 compact, which will probably become the fee-yancy's personal handgun once we move to Texas.
But I wanted something a little more exotic, for fun shooting and hell, just for the novelty of it. So I picked up a Commie fun gun, (hereafter, "Comity"): a Yugoslav M57, the cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian handgun technology, a modification of the original Russian Tokarev TT-33 first issued in the 1930's. The pistol greatly resembles handguns of that end of the century like the 1903 Colt and the Browning .380. Comity shoots the 7.62x25mm Tokarev round, a zippy little cartridge that puts out an 86-grain bullet at around 1600 fps with an epic muzzle blast and report.
But because of California gun laws as they were written at the time (and which are only getting stupider and less effective) I could not buy a new one. New-manufacture M57's from Yugoslavia are not approved for sale in California. This, by the way, is not just limited to foreign firearms. Say, for example, Smith and Wesson released a revolver designed after a certain date. Can't buy it in California. Want to buy a version of the ubiquitous 1911 but the company making the one you want didn't start making them before a certain date? Can't buy it in California. So I had to find one that qualified under "Curios and Relics" status as an antique weapon, manufactured way back in the distant 20th century.
Found one through J and G Sales of Arizona, used, listed as in "very good" shape. I now understand that "very good" in this context means pretty much what it means with cars and boats: Your Mileage May Vary. The pistol's finish looked as though the handgun had been put through a ringer. The gunshop folks who took delivery and I tried to figure out what had caused it; my best guess, it was used to chock a T-34 in place for PMCS. The miniscule, 20th-century MilSpec front sight had been "gently" drifted all the way to one side of its slot, apparently with a ball-peen hammer.
Took it to
the range with some Winchester ball ammo and the Polish Prvi Partizan brand. Lock and load. Thumb down safety. FABOOM. First round right to
point of aim.
Second round.
Click. Hammer falls. No FABOOM.
Keep weapon
pointed downrange. Take finger off trigger. Check to see if magazine improperly
seated. Slap magazine to make sure firmly in place.
FABOOM. If anyone ever attacks me with a piece of acoustic tiling I now
know I own his ass, because the 7.62 x 25mm does a damn-damn on that stuff as evidenced by the cloud of white flakes gently wafting down from above the target.
This becomes
a pattern. One round, pull the funny trigger thing. FABOOM. Next round, no
shot, slap base of magazine. FABOOM. Got to where I was getting decent groups at 7 yards
with the slap, but not exactly optimum technique. Same thing with multiple
magazines. Both Winchester and PP ammo.
I suspected
it was a worn or sticking magazine disconnect. So I took it back to my favorite local gunshop, which shall remain nameless to avoid undeserved harassment.
Gunsmith looks at it and informs me it's not the magazine disconnect that's interfering with the hammer-fall, but the thumb safety, which has been installed so badly that it actually interferes with the drop of the hammer just enough to barely stop it. So at the next impact, FABOOM. He had to shave down the end of the safety and even the inside of the slide to make sure it clears the firing mechanism in the "fire" position. I have since read of other M57 owners having this same problem with the thumb safety.
Now, here's the funny part: THERE IS NO THUMB SAFETY ON A TOKAREV. The magazine disconnect is the only safety feature that does not involve manually working the hammer. The pistol was designed to be carried hammer down on an empty chamber, the way the US military used to carry the .45.
So what was I fiddling with? A BATFE-mandated safety device. You see, the BATFE has established a series of largely superfluous "safety" functions in terms of sights and manual safeties, etc., that the agency requires to permit importation of foreign-manufactured firearms. There's no real purpose for this, as a) these firearms are perfectly safe when carried and used as originally designed to be carried and used, and b) these same safety features are not mandatory on US-manufactured firearms. The phrase "petty bureaucratic harassment" comes to mind, but that would imply federal officials are trying impede a legal activity of which they happen to disapprove, and that's just crazy talk, right? In this case, it would even be "petty bureaucratic harassment that even made a product more dangerous to use in the name of safety".
The thing is, I've heard and seen videos of numerous Tokarevs of different varieties with "import" safeties having this problem. This suggests something to me: having mandated the installation of this "safety" feature, BATFE never took any steps to ensure it was being properly implemented. They issued the diktat, checked the box on their checklist, and went back to dropping off unmarked boxes in Tijuana.
Luckily, I knew enough about safe gun handling to keep the muzzle downrange. Luckily. Gun safety is not supposed to depend on luck...or bureaucrats doing a half-assed job.
The gun? I like it. Given the miniscule military sights from the last century, it's pretty accurate, and it's handy and compact. I like the cartridge and can't wait to work up some handloads for it.
The gun is popular enough that Zastava is importing new-manufactured copies that have a proper factory-installed safety. I may pick up one of those or install a 7.62 barrel in a 1911 frame once I get to Texas in the next few weeks. But for now, now that I've survived the government trying to "protect" me, it's a nice little pistol.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP FROM EGON: This repair should only
be undertaken by a trained professional gunsmith. I neither
recommend nor am competent to offer advice on doing this
at home.

A Modest Propsal for a New Century!
A Mainstream Conservative Pundit Offers
a Daring Vision of the Future Torn

Acting in accordance with yet another Brooks family motto, "Da pro omnibus bonis volunt et damnare" ("Give everyone what they want and damn what's good for them")* mainstream conservative pundit Frumley Brooks sets forth a daring plan for those who plan daringly...

While it is of course unthinkable that any principled, ethical journalist would stoop to attempt legislation or 'social engineering' from the soapbox so graciously provided by his no doubt fair-minded and impartial employers, there are occasions where the cooler head, discerning eye and distanced perspective of the professional correspondent can make a more material contribution to the contest of ideas.
No impartial observer of the times could fail to agree that the defining issues of the day, setting aside petty concerns of national economics and the tiresome escalation of global strife, are the tragic and ongoing slaughter of lusty young men of color in our more turbulent urban concentrations, and the inexplicable upsurge of unauthorized immigration into our fair nation, in spite of our media's most determined efforts to present Lady Liberty as a materialistic bourgeois obsessed with wealth and crass consumer indulgence.
How these matters could suddenly have come to a crisis is a puzzle for the ages, as the Democrats who manage so many of our cities have never addressed any material attention to the meteoric rise of black on black violence, while the Republicans who profess nominal concern for our national affairs have seen nothing to the negative in the healthy competition of millions of eager foreigners willing to contest for jobs with our native lumpen proletariat at any price or any wage. Nonetheless, here the matters raced, and here it falls to your humble correspondent to address them.
The Democrats seem incapable of addressing the rise of black on black violence on their watch, nor the vigorous expansion of Planned Parenthood clinics into what they so colorfully call "The Hood." One would expect they would be concerned by this steady diminution of such a significant part of their electoral base, but such would not seem to be the case. Indeed, the more rapidly the young population of their Negro vote diminishes, the more enthusiastically they seem to pursue the legitimization of ever more legal and docile Hispanics, a sure coincidence that would be regarded as sinister by only the most uncharitable of minds.
Meanwhile the Republicans, heroically resisting the strident demands of their antediluvian base (oh, base indeed!) are locked in bitter struggle, not so much as to whether to deny the eager hidalgo admittance but how many and over what period said admittance can be permitted.
And thus, it falls upon me to suggest that one of these problems can easily resolve the other:
Let us to that end admit the bronzed Aztec, but only in direct proportion to the decrease of the Negro population of America. At one stroke, we solve the problems of both parties! The Democrats receive a stable voting base while not suffering the electoral shortfalls of the extinguished Africans, a goal they have sought politically since 1865 and intellectually since the heyday of Marx and Margaret Sanger. For every young black man untimely reaped —
or woman of color solicitously attended by a parenthood planner—
—admit one son or daughter of Moctezuma.
That such a straightforward plan has been overlooked by our elected superiors is plain evidence of the gridlock being imposed upon our benevolent government by pettifogging concerns over obscure civil rights and arcane "Constitutional" niceties. It is time for dramatic action to take this great nation in the direction it was always meant to go—TIJUANA OR THE BUSH!
or woman of color solicitously attended by a parenthood planner—
—admit one son or daughter of Moctezuma.
"I did say one...!"
This provides the Democrats with a gradual, almost unnoticeable transition from a voter base that has been largely a financial and social loss for them to a voter base long used to pliancy at the hands of an elected elite. At the same time the Republicans reap the benefits of a more gradual escalation of the Democrat voter base less immediately likely to trouble them in their golden years of senior Congressional tenure. So our gallant McCains, McConnells, Boehners and Cantors may enjoy the demographical twilight of their political influence in comfort. That such a straightforward plan has been overlooked by our elected superiors is plain evidence of the gridlock being imposed upon our benevolent government by pettifogging concerns over obscure civil rights and arcane "Constitutional" niceties. A Small Figure in a Bulky White Suit on a Gray TV Screen......
Thirteen years old and it was just dark in Roxbury, a small summer community on Rockaway Point just inland of the Breezy Point of Sandy infamy. Up in the loft of a frame and post bungalow, the still hot air untroubled by the open windows at either end, the smell of sunbaked dry wood laying over it. Small black and white thirteen inch TV, with a smaller figure in a bulky white suit clumsily easing itself down a skinny ladder. The figure half stepped, half jumped from the last rung to the dusty ground...
"That's one small step for man..." And in through the windows, scattered at first but growing, you could hear the cheers and applause from the other families in the other bungalows up and down the street....
HAS OBAMA HITCHED HIS BANDWAGON TO A DEAD HORSE WITH TRAYVON MARTIN?
In a gesture that cemented his reputation as the Black Nixon, Barack Obama yesterday doubled down on his "Manson Moment" when he reinjected himself into the Trayvon Martin shooting case.
In an "impromptu" (as if anything this empty suit does is not as elaborately scripted as a Louis XVI bathroom break) speech on race in America the President of the United States, the highest law enforcement official in the nation, gave an unprecendented 17 minute eulogy to an undisputable thug from a criminal family who committed a brutal assault on a law-abiding citizen. That citizen, George Zimmerman, was then subjected to a multilmillion dollar witch hunt that cost several of the few honest law enforcement officials in Florida their jobs, in which the US Department of Justice spent thousands of dollars organizing public campaigns against Zimmerman up to and during the trial, and led to an orgy of racist-hate from Trayvon Martin's equally useless peers of all colors nationwide. To make sure we got his point, Obama even did the closest thing this soulless mannequin could manage to a beatification, promoting Trayon from "If I'd had a son, he would have looked like Trayvon Martin," to "Trayvon Martin could have been me."
The State Media did its lickspittle best to support him, as newsreaders speculated with open anticipation on the possibility of a summer of "LA riots" nationwide and in some cases even called for them. If you watched MSNBC, C-SPAN, CNN, the big three networks, or even Fox, it would be impossible to imagine that cities weren't poised to erupt in flames.
Cities aren't erupting in flames. Here in Los Angeles, a few morons took time off from a Trayvon prayer meeting to trash a nearby WalMart. A flash mob ran through Hollywood committing candalism and petty crimes. A few more managed to wander out into traffic and block a freeway for a short time. Just today, the 'big' 'justice for Trayvon' rally drew scarcely a hundred people. There was trouble in Oakland, but there's always trouble in Oakland; you can't expect better from a city whose Mayor marched with the Occupy mob trashing it.
There have been similar incidents in other cities, but riots? In an LA, Detroit kind of way? No. Nothing. There have been scattered assaults by blacks on random whites across the country, but the resort to violence and contempt for life have been so thoroughly imprinted in the culture of young black males in America that there isn't even any evidence it's made a statistical blip yet.
So if Obama's support for Trayvon was supposed to galvanize some sort of popular movement, it hasn't paid off, except to reinvigorate a lot of conservative activists and politicians... and turn off a lot of Democrats.
That graphic up top there? I stood out on a street corner displaying that on a signboard in Studio City yesterday evening, to all comers, regardless of race, creed, or gender. Out of all the passersby and all the traffic, I got exactly one finger. No insults, no rage... but a lot of nods and honks and even a few smiles. And we've had screams, things thrown, physical assaults at that corner in years past. That's all gone now.
It may be that Obama's gameplaying mojo is wearing out. It may be that people, even Democrats who mean well, are getting bored with his posturing. He's gone to that well too many times. You won't get that from Chris Matthews or Bob Schieffer or David Gregory, let along Touré or Piers Morgan, but I get the feeling people are just tired of him and starting to disregard anything he says. Sensible people already know to disregard the nonsensical economic numbers coming out of DC (or, more locally, Sacramento). But I think they're also getting fed up with being hectored about fairness and decency by a man and an Administration that uniformly, from Mexican drug-dealers to the Muslim Brotherhood to a teenage thug trying to beat a good man to death, always, always, always sides with the unfair and the indecent.
As to how unfair and indecent the Administration and State Media's behavior was this time, Bill Whittle says it all here...

GIANT STOMPY ROBOTS AGAINST AUTISM!
Greetings Mechwarriors,
The No Guts No Galaxy community on July the (second) will be hosting the RJC Memorial, a charity live-stream to support Autistic children. We will be hosting a non-stop 24 hour live-stream hosted by our very own xImpalerx at No Guts No Galaxy starting at 7PM EDT (11pm UTC).
Come early and tune in as our special guest Jordan Weisman, the father of Battletech, comes to sit in and talk the origins of Battletech and Mechwarrior. Mr Weisman has graciously pledged to stop by from 7:15 to 8:15pm EDT.
Nearly every Mechwarrior knows someone suffering from, or with the patients of, this condition. We often know first hand the difficulties that it can create, and we hope to organize the fighting force of each of you into a force not only for big stompy robots, but for making a difference in the real world. All donations from the event will go to the Autism Science Foundation. ( Autism Science Foundation)
Also joining us will be the voice of Mechwarrior icon “Duncan Fisher”, George Ledoux, so don't miss it as he stops by to swap shop and sit in with our casters. A veteran vocal talent and an active member of the NGNG and Mechwarrior communities in general, Mr Ledoux promises to entertain.
Last but certainly not least, members of the PGI devlopment team, NGNG staff members and your favorite streamers have volunteered their time to stop in and help out, with live appearances and drops within Mechwarrior Online.
It's all mechs on deck for charity, so tune in and join us for a very special Tuesday, July the second at 7pm EDT, on NGNGTV with xImpalerx, and twenty four hours of massive metal machines for a cause!

IRS HARRASSMENT OF TEA PARTIES...? Uh, my bad...
Awkward...
Yeah.
That was me.
How do I know this? Because back in 2009, I posted a right-wing anti-tax video on YouTube. It has since been removed, by sinister government forces trying to cover their tracks, but nothing ever really goes away....
Now, plainly, if an anti-Muslim Youtube video has the power to drive all Islam into an embassy-burning, diplomat-killing frenzy, as our beloved, truthful and honest President and Secretary of State insist, then OBVIOUSLY a right-wing antitax video is powerful enough to goad the IRS and its 94%+ Democratic union workers into similar spasms of madness.
So there it is. I did it. Relax, Mr. Issa, I'm prepared to take my medicine.
Yeah.
That was me.
